DARUL IFTAA – POLICIES, TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Darul Iftaa is a registered charitable organization, operating in accordance with applicable laws and guided by the principles of Islamic Shariah under qualified scholarly supervision.

1. ZAKAT POLICY

Shariah Compliance

The Darul Iftaa, under the leadership of Mufti Safwaan, administers Zakat strictly in accordance with the principles of Shariah. All Zakat-related activities are conducted under the supervision of competent Ulama, ensuring amanah (trust), transparency, and full Shariah compliance.

100% Zakat Distribution Policy

100% of Zakat donations are distributed exclusively to Shariah-eligible beneficiaries.
Zakat funds are never used for administrative expenses, salaries, personal benefit, marketing, or operational costs.
Administrative and operational expenses are covered through non-Zakat funds, including Sadaqah, Lillah, or designated service fees.

Eligible Beneficiaries

Zakat is distributed to recipients within the Shariah-defined categories, including but not limited to:

The poor and needy
Orphans and widows
Eligible students of Deen (Hifdh and Aalim students)
Refugees and displaced persons
Disaster Relief

Allocation prioritizes need, urgency, and Shariah eligibility.

2. DONATION & CHARITY POLICY (GENERAL)

Types of Donations Accepted

The Darul Iftaa accepts:

Zakat
Lillah
Sadaqah
Interest / non-permissible income (utilized strictly in Shariah-approved avenues)
Kaffarah
Fidya
Aqeeqah
Qurbani

Referencing of Donations

Donors are requested to clearly reference their donations (e.g., Zakat, Sadaqah, project, country).
Unreferenced donations, or donations where the donor’s intention cannot be reasonably identified, will by default be treated as Zakat, in line with Shariah principles.

Service & Transaction Fees

Donors are requested to add a service fee to support administrative and operational costs.
Bank service fees are mandatory for Zakat donations.
Online payment platforms may attract transaction fees (~7% or as applicable).
Zakat funds are never used for administration or fees.

3. DISTRIBUTION & IMPLEMENTATION POLICY

Method of Distribution

All project funds are personally distributed by the trustees of the Darul Iftaa, or
Distributed by teams or implementing partners appointed by the Board, operating under strict oversight.

All distributions are executed:

In full compliance with Shariah
With proper verification, documentation, and accountability
Under the supervision of competent Ulama

Country & Project Allocation

The Darul Iftaa will endeavour to allocate donations to the specified country or project as requested by the donor.

However, where:

It becomes impractical, impossible, or not reasonably feasible to utilize the funds in the specified country or project, or
Surplus funds remain after project completion,

the donation may be redirected to other charitable projects deemed appropriate at the sole discretion of the Darul Iftaa.

This constitutes a condition of acceptance of all donations.

4. NIYYAT & AGENCY (WAKEEL) DECLARATION

By making a donation, the donor confirms their Niyyah (intention) and appoints:

The trustees of the Darul Iftaa, or their duly appointed implementing partners, as their unrestricted Wakeel (agent) to distribute Zakat, Lillah, Sadaqah, and other charitable donations in accordance with Shariah.

Acceptance of donations is conditional upon this agency agreement.

5. REFUND POLICY

General Rule

Donations are generally non-refundable, as funds may be promptly allocated or distributed.

Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered at the discretion of the Darul Iftaa in cases of:

Administrative or processing errors
Duplicate transactions
Incorrect donation type selection

Refund Costs

All refund-related costs, including transaction fees, are borne by the donor.
Requests must be submitted within a reasonable timeframe and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. TERMS OF USE

By accessing our services, website, or making a donation, you agree that:

Donations are voluntary.
The Darul Iftaa retains discretion to allocate funds in accordance with Shariah and donor intent.
All content is the intellectual property of the Darul Iftaa and may not be reproduced without permission.
The Darul Iftaa is not liable for delays, modifications, or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including regulatory, logistical, or environmental factors.

7. PRIVACY POLICY

Information Collection

We may collect:

Name, contact details, and donation information
Information voluntarily provided through communication or forms

Use of Information

Collected data is used solely for:

Donation processing
Donor communication
Internal records, reporting, and legal compliance

Data Protection

Donor information is kept confidential.
Information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties except where legally required.
